Heat Overload

I know .. I hate to complain about how hot it is when we complain how cold it is all winter .. and winter here is to long... BUT.. It became to hot too fast. No Warning or warm up. We went from having to refrain from using our heat at night a week and a half ago to 95 with 100% humidity.
yuck

But we are surviving and are lucky to have it cool at home. Work though is another story. I have fans and really all they do is blow the humid hot sticky air around me .. I hate it. There I said it :)

Soo all is good besides .. not alot to blog about. Knee deep in teacher products for now .. and tomorrow is another day :)

{ sweet june }

So summer is starting to truly emerge in New York. We have been blessed with some beautiful days ... bring on the Heat. Everyone is excited for that last day of school to be upon us and the true parts of summer will be able to take place. When I ask the kids exactly what that means .. they each have a different take on it. Jakob { 9 } believes that he will be able to stay up into the wee hours of the night and finally beat some level on a wii game that makes me incredibly dizzy to even watch.. Sophia { 7 } is truly set on going to a state she has never been. Their dad is taking them to Pennsylvania in August and you might as well have told her that she is moving to Disney World. Her one question is " does it take a WHOLE hour to get to Pennsylvania ?"
Hate to break it to her .. but it takes MANY of those counted hours ... but why ruin the fun ?
Ryan {6} is just happy not to go to school..period. He wants to be a "worker " like his dad.. and dig holes and work for the city driving diggers and doing Big Man stuff ... I wonder if he will be as enthusiastic about working in say 15 years :)

So Grandma Jane just returned from her two week adventure to Key West. Of course presents follow grandma trips. So out came the authentic alligator head and large seashell from the beach.
So as the kids looked the shell over and moved on to ooh and Ah over the "head " the shell decides to relocate. Yup. It just gets up and decides to walk away..... So we are now the unsuspecting parents of a hermit crab .. Hermie or Shelly if you ask a different child the name.
Hermie was picked up on the beach and made his way into a large suitcase. Went airborne for his trip to New York. Changed planes three times and went without notice until just last night... 4 days after he was swiped off the beach. Hermie is one lucky crab. So now in a fish tank with sand...snacks..bark..leaves ...a little water and chicken from dinner he sits and digs .... most likely wondering were the %#@* Florida is.

This Minute

Home tonight ..
Everyone is a wee bit cranky.... I am talking about the short people { otherwise known as my children }. They did a lot today while I was working ( ever so peaceful at my store .. don't tell JIM;) ) They went Fishing ... apparently Sophia caught 9 fish , Ryan 8 ... and Jakob who apparently hates fishing sat in the truck for a solid two hours listening to a modern rock station ... venting in his own way.

Jakob wanted to go to New Hartford .. to participate in a YU-GI-OH tournament they have every Saturday. Well it IS a holiday weekend and there was no such tournament today.. He did not believe me ..even after the phone calls ..explaining what happens sometimes on a holiday weekend .. like people go away .. businesses close early ..
Nope.
I am the worst mom ever. The title has been passed to me today .. thank you very much.
Soo .. ok , I will live with that the next 24 hours.
So after fishing and a FUN filled journey to Walmart .. Jim took them on a kite adventure. The wind was perfect .. the kite was high everything was like a magazine I am told..
or not..

Mind you , I wish I was there with my camera .. But work got in the way today.
So Jakob hates kites .. hates fishing .. hates everything but YU-GI-OH Tournaments ..
Sophia and Ryan apparently got sick of one another's competitive spirit ... Even had a few sparked slaps ..
So they came home .. as did I .
Jim had to " Go Lay Down " as he put it " ...because I just can it take it anymore.. "
Now they are all on the couch .. One asleep .. one keeps burping .. and one is waiting to go to New Hartford for YU-GI-OH...

I Love these days ... really , they hold those moments that unless you jot it down ..or take a picture .. you forget . Because the are the little things in our day...and we forget those very special things sometimes..
I think they are cute and worth an entry .. they build character and show us what makes us real :)
The little things ARE the big things after all.

I am soo happy right now.

Moments Today ..

If you are anything like me .. or have a household like mine you would know that no day begins quietly .. smoothly or without incident.
As a mom of three .. Not to mention being a part time parent to my significant other ... you have to be prepared for some excitment in your day.
We were forced into life this morning at 6:12 am by Fisher. He is not one of the two legged children .. but the wildest of the two four legged ones. He was up .. and something had him perplexed.. He was barking .. howling and bouncing his kennel all over my artroom floor.
" are you kidding me " I was thinking .. hair straight up ..heart pounding and all of a sudden realizing I was desperate need of a drink of water. So down the stairs i went to see what this wild animal could be so upset about. I checked the door first .. no one there. I went in to the room and found him frantly barking at .. himself .. yes , I apparently forgot to replace one of my large mirrors when I was moving things around.
I stood there him looking at me then his reflection and back at me .... Yes Fisher .. This is a very embarressing moment for you . He was now wagging his tail all chipper and happy to see me .. Great , I'm up.
I let him outside and turn around to find the three two legged wonders staring at me ..
" So .. mom , What's for Breakfast ?"
