Me + You

Everyone has went off to do projects .. hang with their friends ..go to the State fair ... So it is You and Me ...Me and You until tonight. And then quite frankly it is You and Me and Me and You again all night long ... but who is keeping track of that ? :)
You sure do like your momma don't you ?! Who needs sleep anyways ?

surprises

....Sophia always leaves me small surprises.
Especially on my cell phone. She will take random pictures of herself or Silas ...just about anything, And her photos are always full of her humor and spirit. I love it.
Someday I will figure out how to upload them from my phone to the computer .. So for now I have this huge inventory of cute , silly and heart sent photo messages from my best girl to her momma. :) <3

Winding down

Were did the week go ?
All geared up for the upcoming start for school and activities ..
We are still trying to fit as much summer as we can into these last few weeks.
I am secretly happy that fall is around the corner, it's my favorite time of year.
I am actually ready to dump the shorts and flip flops for a bit and get into
my jeans and fun sweaters ... I could do without the winter really. Would love to by pass that all together!
So one more week of summer ... what to do... what to do ...
Just going to take it easy and enjoy this time I think ... all about the moments and
keeping the camera on hand :)

Weekends come ... weekends go ...

All too quick it is Sunday when Friday was just here...
Fairly busy weekend ... birthday party , More School shopping ( will it ever end ? )..
A little mom shopping ...and a trip to a mock Drive in last night.
I don't think that many drive-in's actually exist anymore. Jakob and Sophia had no idea what one was. I said Drive-In and they thought that I was talking about Burger-king or Wendy's. So that defiantly aged me a bit.
I remember going to the drive-in with my dad and my brother Johnny as kids. You parked next to those speakers that you could pull into your truck and watch your movie all cramped into the front seat :) The previews consisted of the dancing popcorn, soda and candies running across the screen ... { sigh } now I feel really dated:)
So last night we went to see Hotel For Dogs on a huge outdoor screen with friends. We brought a big blanket and popcorn and camped out in the summer night air.
I was relieved that it cooled down a bit ... Silas and I are not fans of the humid air. Everyone else could care less though. It was fun ... lots of people and a really cute movie. Best part besides being together was - It was FREE:) No frills or need for cash on entertainment .. love it. The kids were happy and didn't even know the difference! Good Bye weekend .... Monday is on the way!

Six and one half months:)

Could it be ... Silas has already passed six months?!
When I sit down and think about it .. it does not even seem possible.
But here we are at the half way point ... and he is just the sweetest
little man! We had our six month check up this past Tuesday and he
passed with flying colors I guess you could say ... 18 pounds 10 oz ..
29 inches long.. Five teeth...clapping his hands ... rolling and scooting
all around...sitting all by himself ...loves to play peek-a-boo...and at last today was able to drink a bit
of water from his sippy cup. This is a huge task we hope to learn soon.
Silas refuses a bottle and pacifier , While this is wonderful in many
ways ... it also makes it hard in others. So I am looking forward to him mastering the cup so that I may be able to step out for a bit.
He was very proud of himself and laughed as he was able to actually get a drink ..
So this will be a game for the weekend :)
He has not been feeling his best since our last round of shots. Coughing ..runny nose .. the low grade fevers off and on. Sleep ... well , he really has not mastered that. Unless of course he is on my lap and we are sitting upright .{ sigh*} That is getting a bit old... The doctor says not to nurse him when he wakes and to just lay him down...... sure , that is about as fun as putting a cat into a tub of bath water. Not going to happen!
But all and all he is doing great. Such a little character with his full head of hair and big blue eyes. He is so giggly and silly most of the time. And he gives the best hug squeeze ever:)
So far so good ... can't wait to see what the next six months bring!

back to normal

We have finally settled into our routine again after vacations and lapsed moments.
It is good to be together as a whole ... I was out of sorts for a week really.
So Summer is winding down ...
Where did it go ? It is very hard to even fathom that September is right around the bend ... and makes you realize that Christmas is not far off as well. Gasp!
Soccer has started ..We are finishing up our school shopping in the coming week...
Jakob will be getting his braces very soon. Lots of changes on the rise... lots of good coming ...
So for now we will try to embrace what we have left of summer .. play some more and hopefully sneak in another adventure or two.
I love our time together ... makes me all warm and fuzzy:)

mom time

My posts have been a little short and sweet these past few times .... Life sure is busy. Can't even begin to imagine going back to work this fall and trying to get done what I can barely accomplish now ... amazing when I think about how much I used to work and do before .... Sad that I missed out on so much at home.
But it's all good...
Jakob and Sophia are on their southern adventure until Wednesday ...
I have been missing them and staying very busy with school shopping..arranging sport schedules...keeping house and all that comes with it. It is hard to find moments like these where I can sit and relax and blog a bit ...catch up on reading my favorite blogs and actually eat a little something. Someday ... I will muster the energy to start walking or running or attempting to get some sort of exercise which includes fresh air:)
But for now I am very content to be a Home body momma ...
I am the Taxi..the part time baker...the keeper of the peace and order.
I listen..beg and plead for moments of silence and attempt to keep everyone happy and busy as much as humanly possible. Most of the time my sentences include some form of baby talk or high pitched sound ...I am working on that as there are times when I get an odd look or raised eyebrow from the person I am attempting to communicate with ...
I have come to accept that sleep is pretty much out of the question and continue to eat the same three things every day so as not to upset the little prince's sensitive belly...
I have enjoyed my time at home ... it has been a wonderful summer so far just being a mom every moment of every day :)
These are very special moments ... times I am sure that I will one day look back on and be thankful that I had so much time with the kids ..Not saying that every day is perfect or without incident ... but that is OK , life is good.

Take Inventory of the best things in your life..
Hang on to moments like these. These moments become memories and stories that we will tell our children and answer questions like " Remember when... ?" or " What did we do ...?" Moments only happen once ...so enjoy it and breath it in while you can. Tomorrow is always another day ... but what it brings we only learn through experiencing it then.
Being able to answer those curious questions are the best parts ... lets just hope the mind is still intact;)

Eyes on Momma :)

Guess who likes to watch me while I drive :)
You can't see it in this picture .. but he is smiling at me ..
Yes, Silas ... I love you too:):)

Flying High ...

The kids are on their way to Texas with their dad ... I miss them already :(.
I have never seen them so excited to be up at three in the morning before. Jakob's toes barely touched the ground ... I hope they have a wonderful adventure and make some happy memories :) I will be with them in spirit every single day :) :)

Cuteness

Every Morning at breakfast Silas has these Long conversations with the vacuum.
I didn't really realize it at first ... until I put it away and he started wailing at the top of his lungs;) So I pull it out ... stick it in the corner and it gives me a few minutes to gather things for everyone's breakfast ... and sometimes even do the dishes. He babbles and screams and giggles at it for awhile ... it must either be pretty funny looking to him or remind him of me in some way. Whatever it is I think that it is the cutest thing:) One more moment of cuteness to add to the list !

Slow Down ...

...Some Days when I look at you I can not believe how fast you are growing up...
Today was one of those days. We went school shopping for awhile and looked at all new styles. I tried to explain to you that they are really " old " styles from the 80's { " what are the 80's ?" }. I explained that I used to wear clothes like that when I was younger .. { " When were you younger ?" ..." In the 80's" ..." Mom, I don't get it. But please don't wear the same clothes as me, Ok? " } Sigh ..
You tried on endless outfits and paraded around in hats and wild patterned clothing. I kept my patience even with Silas in tow and your BFF skipping all around the store trying to convince me that I should purchase her a few outfits as well.
There were moments when I found myself just staring at you. Marveled at how articulate you were about choosing things to try on ... amazed at how pretty you are and how much I wished that you would just stop growing so fast..
You had your moments though today, where you pushed a few limits... running in the isles , eating way too many cookies and picking on your brother just to name a few .
But there are those moments when I look at you and even though you are growing up ... I still see that lippy pout baby girl who warmed my heart with her giggles and wet kisses. The little babe who would have a pacifier in each hand in a life grip on the one in her mouth...The cutie who fell asleep before she could blow out her first candle on her cake.
That's my Girl ... only now she is taller and brighter and even more of a challenge.
You continue to warm my heart and stretch my patience everyday. And I love you more and more for it.
Now ...about that hat ...

Stormy Night

Thunderstorms Pictures, Images and Photos

Ok ... So we are all up with the thunder and lightning and what nots ....
Just praying the power does not go out and we are completely in the dark :)

Quality hug and Tv time awaits:)

Busy Daze

The past few days have been crazy busy with little time for sitting let alone sleeping.
Which continues to evade me on a nightly basis...Life is interesting on pure adrenaline.
Jakob and Sophia had their big play this weekend:)
I am so very proud of them ... they did an amazing job. Jakob has been in several plays... he loves acting and making the audience laugh. This was Sophia's very first time... and it was simply great. It is always neat to see how it all comes together.. After two months of practice..rehearsals ans lots of stress. To see them on stage in costume ...preforming and seeing the play for how it was written is so amazing!
Great job my little on stage stars !!
So we move on to Authors and Illustrators next week ...very excited about this too:)
So all is well ... hoping for a lazy day today { A mom can Dream can't she ? }

Thoughts

Heart Balloons Pictures, Images and Photos

And prayers for a special little girl tomorrow ;)

Upright

Learning to sit is a big deal :)
Silas is so very proud of himself ... and actually gets a giggle at the topple overs.
He is just too darn cute for words !!
Great Job little Mister Man - Love you!

Conversations

...Are often interesting with Jakob.
I am completely blown away by how much information he can actually hold in his cute little brain. Reading at age 3 ... memorizing all the presidents and vice presidents ( not to mention how they died and where they went to college by age 4) He knows all states and capitals - all countries and stats and rivers and populations etc... it is very difficult to stump him on anything. EVER !!
His latest thing is a TV show called Brain Rush.
It is a trivia show that has teenagers get on these terrifying roller coasters and answer questions while going 80 MPH or swirling upside down. Kinda cool - I guess... and nauseating at the same time.
So today as the girls having taken over every room with Barbie cities, he quizzes me again and a again ....
" Is Two Face a superhero or a super Villon?" " Who Sings the current hit Right Round?" " What body part is Kyle XY Missing?" " How many dollars make up a C Note ?" " Is Green Day a Rock Band or a Holiday ?" What Saturday night Live Star plays VP Joe Biden ?" What year was the US Constitution Written ?" " What State was Kobe Bryant born in ?" "Which Athlete has been on Sports Illustrated the most times ?"
" Is Auto Man from the Simpson's or Family Guy " " What kind of Job does Mario have from Nintendo "?

He makes my day a little brighter and makes my smile a lot bigger.
I just adore his innocence and happy heart ...and his never ending quest for knowledge and need to get all the facts first. He is simply gifted and simply melts my heart with his goodness. Not a mean bone in his ever growing body;)
What an amazing big brother ...Sophia and Silas are truly blessed.

This second ....

Taking a moment to relax before round two :)

Taking it easy

Everyone was so tired this morning ... Silas and I actually slept off and on until 10:30 .... it was wonderful :) Would have been better though if I would get myself into bed at night at a reasonable hour..
Sea Breeze was fun ... and hectic. Having two children who want to do two different things and an infant who would prefer to nurse at a moments notice was a bit of a challenge. But once we got a few kinks worked out and got used to the heat ... the rest of the day went smoothly.
I am amazed at how brave Sophia is. She has no fear when it comes to any roller coaster or speeding ride that twirls and spins. Jakob on the other hand was not as amused. I really had to encourage him or give him the " are you kidding me " speech when he waited in the lines and decided not to ride at the last second. It was a bit frustrating and Sophia was a little mad that she did a lot of solo riding ... but we all dealt with our little quirks quite well I think.
They loved the water park of course.... This was Sophia's first year to do all the big slides that Jake could do. And they did ... over and over.
Lot's of fun ... some laughs ..a few complaints ... but pretty much a perfect day.
As for Silas ... it just amazes me to watch him look at everything. It all must look so big. He was wide eyed and babbling at things ... lots of squeals and kicks :) Too cute. He is defiantly a water Baby. He was right in it and loving every second!

So today was fairly quiet. Did a little school shopping ...Sophia tried to convince me to bring a few hamsters home ... or at least one Guinea Pig from Pet Smart. We will pass on that for now ...as we have the School turtles for the summer. The Zoo here is full. Hard to believe that they will be back in school a month from today.
Unbelievable ....
Until then we will hang on to Summer as tight as we can :)

Live in the Moment

....and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering..

Had so much fun with my babies today :) Need to have play dates like these more often.
What fun memories we made .... I heart you guys;)
I will share more tomorrow of our day ... for now I am all about sleep!

Love,
Mommy

Moments Today ..

If you are anything like me .. or have a household like mine you would know that no day begins quietly .. smoothly or without incident.
As a mom of three .. Not to mention being a part time parent to my significant other ... you have to be prepared for some excitment in your day.
We were forced into life this morning at 6:12 am by Fisher. He is not one of the two legged children .. but the wildest of the two four legged ones. He was up .. and something had him perplexed.. He was barking .. howling and bouncing his kennel all over my artroom floor.
" are you kidding me " I was thinking .. hair straight up ..heart pounding and all of a sudden realizing I was desperate need of a drink of water. So down the stairs i went to see what this wild animal could be so upset about. I checked the door first .. no one there. I went in to the room and found him frantly barking at .. himself .. yes , I apparently forgot to replace one of my large mirrors when I was moving things around.
I stood there him looking at me then his reflection and back at me .... Yes Fisher .. This is a very embarressing moment for you . He was now wagging his tail all chipper and happy to see me .. Great , I'm up.
I let him outside and turn around to find the three two legged wonders staring at me ..
" So .. mom , What's for Breakfast ?"
