Six and one half months:)

Could it be ... Silas has already passed six months?!
When I sit down and think about it .. it does not even seem possible.
But here we are at the half way point ... and he is just the sweetest
little man! We had our six month check up this past Tuesday and he
passed with flying colors I guess you could say ... 18 pounds 10 oz ..
29 inches long.. Five teeth...clapping his hands ... rolling and scooting
all around...sitting all by himself ...loves to play peek-a-boo...and at last today was able to drink a bit
of water from his sippy cup. This is a huge task we hope to learn soon.
Silas refuses a bottle and pacifier , While this is wonderful in many
ways ... it also makes it hard in others. So I am looking forward to him mastering the cup so that I may be able to step out for a bit.
He was very proud of himself and laughed as he was able to actually get a drink ..
So this will be a game for the weekend :)
He has not been feeling his best since our last round of shots. Coughing ..runny nose .. the low grade fevers off and on. Sleep ... well , he really has not mastered that. Unless of course he is on my lap and we are sitting upright .{ sigh*} That is getting a bit old... The doctor says not to nurse him when he wakes and to just lay him down...... sure , that is about as fun as putting a cat into a tub of bath water. Not going to happen!
But all and all he is doing great. Such a little character with his full head of hair and big blue eyes. He is so giggly and silly most of the time. And he gives the best hug squeeze ever:)
So far so good ... can't wait to see what the next six months bring!

Moments Today ..

If you are anything like me .. or have a household like mine you would know that no day begins quietly .. smoothly or without incident.
As a mom of three .. Not to mention being a part time parent to my significant other ... you have to be prepared for some excitment in your day.
We were forced into life this morning at 6:12 am by Fisher. He is not one of the two legged children .. but the wildest of the two four legged ones. He was up .. and something had him perplexed.. He was barking .. howling and bouncing his kennel all over my artroom floor.
" are you kidding me " I was thinking .. hair straight up ..heart pounding and all of a sudden realizing I was desperate need of a drink of water. So down the stairs i went to see what this wild animal could be so upset about. I checked the door first .. no one there. I went in to the room and found him frantly barking at .. himself .. yes , I apparently forgot to replace one of my large mirrors when I was moving things around.
I stood there him looking at me then his reflection and back at me .... Yes Fisher .. This is a very embarressing moment for you . He was now wagging his tail all chipper and happy to see me .. Great , I'm up.
I let him outside and turn around to find the three two legged wonders staring at me ..
" So .. mom , What's for Breakfast ?"
